Player Evaluation Goal and Division Placement:

All registered players are placed on a team through the Player Evaluation process.  Because all players make a team, it is not a "tryout" as that term is commonly used.  Player Evaluations are critical for establishing draft pools allowing team managers to draft balanced teams. The results of the Player Evaluations provide information that are used to determine what division is most appropriate for each player.  Your child's placement in a division is based on several criteria such as league age, skill level, and experience. The total player registration count in each division also impacts player assignments.

Who Attends and What Drills are Completed:

ALL new and returning players participating in Softball and Baseball, Minor and Major Division participate in a Player Evaluation to get drafted onto a team.  Players returning from a Baseball Major Division team from the prior year DO NOT need to participate in a Player Evaluation.  Those players remain on the Major team they were drafted onto the prior year.  TEE BALL players DO NOT need to participate in a Player Evaluation either.  During the evaluation, the player will be asked to do their best at the following skills: Running, Infield, Outfield, Throwing and Batting.

All players are required to participate in only ONE Player Evaluation.

Evaluation Locations:

All players must be evaluated EXCEPT for Teeball.

BASEBALL Evaluations:
February 22nd, 1-3pm or February 24th, 5-7pm

SOFTBALL Evaluations:
February 22nd, 3-5pm or February 24th, 5-7pm

Players only need to come to ONE evaluation date.

Evaluations will be held at the Arch Complex, located at:

700 Memorial Blvd. W, Huntington, 25701

Please bring a bat, batting helmet and fielding glove to the evaluations. If you don't have these items, the league will provide the equipment for the evaluation.

If you have questions about registration please email: [email protected]

PLEASE NOTE, PLAYERS THAT ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND A PLAYER EVALUATION MAY STILL BE PLACED ON A MINOR DIVISION TEAM IF SPACE PERMITS.  HOWEVER, LITTLE LEAGUE REGULATIONS PROHIBIT DRAFTING PLAYERS ONTO MAJOR DIVISION TEAMS IF THEY HAVE NOT PARTICIPATED IN A PLAYER EVALUATION.
